He is married to Catherine and has two school-aged children, Seanna and Jonathan. Ben is a real people person. He loves journeying with others into a deeper relationship with God. ED KARLSEN

SENIOR PASTOR

I was born in Rotorua but was raised and educated in Norway. Married to Linda, and we have two grown up children (Maria & Ben) and blessed with 3 grandchildren. Linda and I became Christians in our late 20s with a miraculous transformation. We instantly embraced the Holy Spirit and experienced the power of God. Since our conversion, we have embraced the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ and we seek to honour him.

In 2016, the Lord called us to join the team at Mt Roskill Baptist Church. After 11 treasured years in Christchurch we ventured back to our roots in the North Island. With a mixture of Polynesian and European, and bilingual, I have an appreciation for different cultures. Linda and I have always had a heart for those who struggle to fit within our society and church, be it culture, colour or social standing. We have a vision of seeing all people of all backgrounds coming together loving God and each other. The measure of a church is how we treat the least amongst us.
